109 Ridgeway St., National Register Historic District, Warrenton | |
The gardens, which
have an "English flavor", were designed by Charles Gillette,
a master of landscape architecture best known for the gardens at Agecroft
Hall in Richmond. A long brick walk leads around a fountain from the Main Street gate. Several other brick-lined paths have recently been discovered as part of the current owners effort to research and restore the multi-leveled and many chambered gardens. |

Though
it is not verified, we suspect Mrs. Arrington remodeled the
gardens along with the house during the 1930s. |
