Bobbitt-Pendleton-Arrington House

Originally built around 1840 by carriage maker William Bobbitt, at a time when Warrenton, NC had emerged as a regional economic and education center. Stylistic evidence indicates Jacob Holt may have been the builder of the Bobbitt house. Later it became the home of Victoria Louise Pendleton and then of her daughter, Katherine P. Arrington who extensively remodeled the home during the 1930’s.
Mrs. Arrington was president of the North Carolina Art Society from 1926 to 1955 and was a leading force in the establishment of North Carolina Museum of Art.
