Descriptions of Raleigh's Historic Districts

The Raleigh Historic District Commission publishes the Design Guidelines for Raleigh Historic Districts. This valuable publication accomplishes many things. For one, it provides guidance in planning projects for property owners, residents and developers. It also provides a "Special Character" description of many of historic neighborhoods here in Raleigh. These descriptions are relatively brief, yet thorough in history and geography. The following is a list of these descriptions for most of Raleigh's Historic neighborhoods. These are all Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) files and require the free Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Blount Street (162 KB, 3 pages)
Boylan Heights (164 KB, 2 pages)
Capital Square (184 KB, 3 pages)

Historic Oakwood (183 KB, 3 pages)
